Ed Limato, the brilliant and glamorous talent agent who repped every one from Marlon Brando to Denzel Washington, Michelle Pfeiffer and Richard Gere, died yesterday at his Beverly Hills home. He was 73 years old and had been in poor health for a while. Limato, who spent most of his career at ICM and then moved over to a recent stint at WME, was known for his skill in discovering talent both in front of the camera and behind it. He trained and launched the careers of many of today’s top talent executives and guided the careers of super stars like Meryl Streep, Dennis Quaid, and veteran actress Jill Clayburgh just to name a few. Every year, Ed Limato emphatically hosted the most dazzling and coveted pre-Oscar bash in town at his California estate and famously walked around in his bare feet. Limato was a true Hollywood star and a one of a kind top brass, and will be greatly missed.
