Spike Lee is coming to HBO with his fourth feature-length collaboration with HBO. Five years after Katrina, director Spike Lee returns to New Orleans to see how the ambitious plans to reinvent the Crescent City are playing out in his new four-hour, two part documentary ‘If God is Willing and Da Creek Don‘t Rise.’ It’s a heartfelt story of hope and heartache and the city’s storied ability to celebrate life with unmatched ebullience. Lee documents the successes and failures in the ongoing efforts to restore housing, healthcare, education, economic growth and law and order to the battered community. The Oscar nominated Lee digs deep and uncovers the good the bad and the ugly, and also takes a look at the massive BP Gulf oil spill. Lee interviews many people who share their stories including the former La Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, and activist actors Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. The riveting documentary airs Monday and Tuesday, August 23rd and 24th from 9-11p on HBO.
