The Queen of hip- hop and the Queen of country music are coming together to star in ‘Joyful Noise,’ the story of two women who join forces to save a small town gospel choir from closing down. Latifah, who takes no nonsense in her real life, will play the no-nonsense mother put in charge of the choir after the recent death of the original choir director, and Parton who hasn’t acted in years, will play the widow of the choir director who had assumed she would take his place. I smell hit soundtrack here and major laughs. Actor turned writer, director Todd Graff (‘Bandslam’, ‘Beautician and the Beast,’) will direct from his own screenplay for Warner Bros and Alcon Entertainment.
