Cheryl Hines, the hysterical sidekick to Larry David on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, decided to go off on a tangent from her comedic show biz career temporarily and put on her executive producer hat and do some good for children and their education. Over the phone today she said, “I felt the need to reach out. I’m a mom and have a daughter in elementary school and we need to show these kids we care.” So, after some meetings she joined forces with NBC and filmed a school makeover reality series that renovates deteriorated schools in various cities in hopes of revitalizing communities and encouraging student pride and academic improvement. Cheryl is behind the camera on this one and the cameras follow students, teachers and parents as they roll up their sleeves and rebuild and transform. NBC, you get Cheryl Hines and you don’t put her on camera? I guess we’ll just have to wait to see her in the new season of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ which she’s filming now. NBC’s School Pride premieres this Friday, October 15th at 8p.
