Cowboy Junkies are back with ‘Demons,’ on which they add their own Northern spin to the songs of the late Vic Chestnutt, the acclaimed American singer/songwriter discovered by REM’s Michael Stipe, who succumb to a muscle relaxant overdose – out February 15, on Latent Recordings. ‘Demons’ is the second volume of the four- part Nomad Series, following 2010’s release, ‘Renmin Park.’ In 1996, Madonna, Indigo Girls and Smashing Pumpkins all performed Chestnutt’s songs for the”Sweet Relief II: The Gravity of the Situation,” an album that offered medical support for musicians. A bad car accident had left Chestnutt  partly paralyzed since the age of 18. Check out the first track from the record, a haunting version of “Wrong Piano.”
