NY singer/songwriter Abby Bernstein is a girl on a mission. The 23 year old bluesy- pop artist who hails from Massachusetts but calls NYC home is an old soul with a new sound. “I come from a very musical family” said Bernstein. “My grandparents are classically trained pianists. “My parents weren’t musicians but everyone else in my family was and they are very creative. My parents met in the 70’s, which is like the best music ever. So I grew up listening to a lot of great stuff. From the time I was really little I was always singing and putting on performances and writing songs, and my parents named me after Abbey Road.” And that would be The Beatles ‘Abbey Road’ album of course, that the up-and-comer is referring to which is regarded as one of the best albums of all time. Abby is groovy and interesting just like her deeply rooted musical background of blues, gospel, pop, rock, soul and jazz, and her love of storytelling shines through on her exciting debut album “I’m Not Sorry,” available now on iTunes. It’s 11 tracks of bluesy- pop with a touch of Americana produced by mega talent Adam Blackstone whose resume includes The Roots, Eminem, Maroon 5, and Usher. Abby’s got the passion, the vision and the skills and her sound is fresh and cool. Check her out. www.abbybernstein.com
