Last Thursday’s opening reception for highly acclaimed portrait photographer Lynn Goldsmith at The Morrison Hotel Gallery’s 313 Bowery location was a who’s who of downtown rock-n-roll chic. The ‘Within A Circle of Friends’ exhibition featured Lynn’s extensive and iconic photographs of five of the most important and influential artists of our time; Bruce Springsteen, Keith Richards, Bob Dylan, U2, and Bob Marley. The packed house all looking to buy the iconic photographs whose collectability has proven to be extremely popular among buyers at the gallery and collectors around the world included musician Billy Squier, actress Karen Allen, DJ’s Carol Miller and Jim Kerr from Q104.3, and famous Woodstock photographer Elliott Landy. Lynn Goldsmith is one talented lady. Not only has she worn the hat of director and the youngest member ever to be inducted into the Director’s Guild of America, but she is also a musician writing songs and recording with high-caliber artists such as Sting, Steve Winwood, Todd Rundgren and Nile Rodgers. Her debut album won critical acclaim and her single, “Kissing With Confidence”, reached #3 on the British charts. Take a cool friend and some cash and check out Lynn’s exhibit, it’s amazing.
