As costars on ‘Men of a Certain Age,’ now in its second season, Scott Bakula, 56, Andre Braugher, 48, and Ray Romano, 53, play old college friends balancing the joys—and joint problems—of middle age. In an interview in Sunday’s PARADE, the trio gathered around a table to talk about work, male friendships, and more about this stage of life.
Here are some highlights in case you missed it:
Being an adult male isn’t all it’s cracked up to be…
Romano says: “We did a little run on the show about the fact that there’s an entire generation of women for whom guys like us don’t exist. I’ll be at a stoplight next to a woman in another car. In the old days, I might have gotten at least a slightly illicit glance back. But now it’s as if they’re seeing their grandpa. You’re completely invisible to them.”
Thoughts about the passing of the years…
BRAUGHER: I love my geezerhood. Time only flows in one direction, as far as we know. You have to go with it, because these are the only times we’ve got. These are the good times. No, I do not look as good as I did at 26, but guess what? I’m not 26.
BAKULA: Aging is a state of mind. Happily, because we all have young kids, that keeps us young.
