Besides directing the very heartfelt Katrina documentary or HBO, it’s been three years since NY Knick major supporter Spike Lee has been involved with a movie project and that is finally coming to an end with the news of his latest directing-project ‘Oldboy.’
The picture, a remake of the original a 2003 Korean cult classic and which went on to win the Grand Prize at Cannes in 2005, revolves around a man who’s kidnapped and imprisoned for 15 years with no idea why. At one time Steven Spielberg was interested in the project as well as Will starring. No word yet on who will star.
Mandate President Nathan Kahane who is all set to be executive produce said, “It’s a great honor to put this special project into the hands of such a gifted writer and iconic director,” he said of Spike Lee’s attachment to the film.
