It’s not Real Housewives, and it’s not Mob Wives, its ‘Russian Dolls.’ Yes, originally named Brighton Beach, Lifetime Television looks to expose the lives of the Brighton Beach dames. Work hard, spend hard. They don’t mess around and they will tell you how it is. Some neighbors are nervous and say this is just what we need another reality show depicting a specific community, but here goes anyway.
Just premiering last Thursday, the cameras began following the fast paced comings and goings of eight flashy and splashy men and women who live fully, love passionately and work hard in Brooklyn’s historic Russian-American neighborhood.
I have to say I love the Borscht soup recipe being passed down along with the strong family tie lessons in episode one not to mention the added bonus of the grandma pageant, but whether these powerhouses will have staying power like those of the Housewives is yet to be seen. ‘Russian Dolls‘ on Lifetime Monday’s at 10:30p ET.
