Based on the 2002 true story about major league baseball, Brad Pitt plays general manager Billy Beane of the Oakland A’s, who built up a winning team despite a decreased budget thanks to his clever use of statistical data to calculate the best players at the cheapest prices.
Brad is the whole movie along with Jonah Hill in his first supergood dramatic role. The always appealing Robin Wright and Phillip Seymour Hoffman both have small roles but one has to wish they’d been let out of the bullpen a bit more. Chris Pratt of ‘Parks & Recreation‘ also stands out in the film.
It’s baseball all the time but its heart too, so the girls have something to cheer about along with Pitt on the big screen for two hours. ‘Moneyball’ opens Friday, September 23.
