The road to Oscar has begun.
The A-list headed to the mountains and palm trees Saturday for the 23rd Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival giving us an idea of who’s going to stand out at the upcoming Golden Globes and Oscars.
New found friends since appearing together in ‘Moneyball,’ Jonah Hill presented a cane holding Brad Pitt with the Desert Palm Achievement awards for his work in ‘Moneyball’ and ‘Tree of Life.’
According to Angelina Jolie, her partner hurt himself protecting his daughter while skiing. Also receiving this award was Michelle Williams for her critically acclaimed work in ‘My Week with Marilyn,’ and the buzz is she could go home with the Oscar.
George Clooney arrived with arm candy Stacy Keibler and accepted the Chairman’s award for his work in ‘The Descendents’ and ‘The Idea of March,’ while Glenn Close who brought her indie film ‘Albert Nobbs’ to life, received a Career Achievement award.
‘The Help’s’ Octavia Spencer and Jessica Chastain both received awards; the Breakthrough award and Spotlight award respectively.
Charlize Theron and Patton Oswalt both received the Creative Ensemble award for ‘Young Adult.’ And, Gary Oldman was awarded International Star of the Year for ‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.‘
Also there Al Pacino, Tom Hanks, Melissa McCarthy and Adrien Brody.
