Bill Rancic, who is expecting his first child with wife Giuliana, opened up to Parade.com about baby names, the couples high-tech way of staying in touch, and why Giuliana will be the bad cop.

On their plans to have a vow renewal this summer...
“We had a crazy year and we’ve tested our vows. Our outlook on life is different so we want to tweak our vows a little and have more fun with it. It’s going to be a celebration of life and as I told her, it’s the year of the Rancics.”
On who will be the disciplinarian…
“I hate to say it but she’s going to be the tough one, believe it or not. I’m the softie. When we’re around my nephews, I’m a pushover. She lays down the law. She’s tough. Her parents were very strict. She was never allowed to sleepover at people’s homes. They ran a really tight operation in her house so I think she will surprisingly be the disciplinarian.”
On baby names…
“We’re still playing with names. You won’t see any juniors. I think you have to earn that title. If one day we have a son and he chooses to name his son after me, then I’ve earned it! I did a good job as a father and I made him proud. I don’t think it’s something you force on someone. It’s got to be earned. I would never do that. Although Giuliana would like to see a Giuliana Jr., I don’t think that’s going to happen.”
On keeping their busy marriage strong…
“Although we travel a lot we try to limit it and we’re starting to do more projects together. We’re doing more work things together to limit our time apart. When we’re apart, we’re on the phone a lot and use FaceTime. Recently, both of our flights had Wi-Fi and we were FaceTiming each other from our seats on our separate planes. I was talking very quietly and the person next to me was watching a movie.”
