Season 5 of the ‘Real Housewives of New York City‘ begins next Monday on Bravo at 9pm ET and already the ladies are at each others throats.
And we love it.
Sonja Morgan recently had some fierce words for new castmate Aviva Drescher.
The ex-wife of JP Morgan told The New York Observer; “We all went to one of her SoulCycle events, but she wasn’t really involved with any charities. I ran into her ex-husband Harry Dubin and he was just as surprised; he said Aviva never did any philanthropy.”
Ouch.
Drescher’s Bravo bio boasts her philanthropic work as the national spokesperson for One Step Ahead, an organization for amputees, as an Advisory Board Member of Cancer Schmancer/ Trash Cancer, and for her work with the Live4Life Foundation. She is also related to actress Fran Drescher, creator of Cancer/Shmancer, through marriage.
Drescher, the first and only New York City born and bred “Housewife”, at six years old, was in a tragic farm accident which resulted in the amputation of her left leg and has worn a prosthetic leg ever since.
Now remarried, the educated Drescher with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vassar College, a master’s degree in French from New York University, and a J.D. from The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, devotes her time to her investment banker husband, Reid, and raising and educating their family of four children on the Upper East Side.
In response, Drescher told The New York Observer, “That’s about as silly as saying that I have two legs. It’s absurd. I’ve been helping people who were amputees, one-on-one, since I was 20. I’ve been the national spokesperson for One Step Ahead for approximately five years. Besides, Sonja Morgan is an alcoholic. “She has to be carried out of every party.”
