Now that the six main characters of ‘Modern Family’ have all gotten major pay raises, Mr. Chow, Madeo’s and all the other fancy Beverly Hills restaurants and shops can rejoice.
Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara according to Variety, have agreed to drop the lawsuit filed against the studio in exchange for a modest pay raise from the mid five figures to the low six figures, as well receiving one-quarter of a point in backend share. Considering the show makes hundreds of millions in syndication, that’s nothing to cry about. Ed O’Neill who makes more than all of them, eventually joined his cast in the suit and probably got a nice raise himself.
The deal has been kept quiet, but it’s also understood that the actors agreed to give the studio an additional season, taking them through season eight.
Word on the street is that the kid actors are now looking for a better deal too.
“Modern Family” co-creator Steve Levitan after hearing about the agreement said, “I’m very happy for my friends in the cast for their success. I really am.”
As scheduled, production will begin on Monday.
Now we can all rest easy.
