Music Interview: Buzzworthy Action Item Tours with Owl City

New Jersey natives Action Item, currently on tour with Owl City have burst onto the music scene with their hooky single ‘Last Day of Summer’ which even went MTV Buzzworthy.

Supporting their first EP ‘The Stronger The Love’ the early twenty-somethings have already been direct support for Hot Chelle Rae, Andy Grammer and Allstar Weekend along with having support slots for Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez & Boys Like Girls under their belt.

Taking time out from putting their finishing touches on the enw EP out this Fall, the guys answered some Gossip Gal questions.

-What’s it like being an up and coming band in today’s music business and is it what you thought it would be like?

It’s definitely different from what I expected. The workload is pretty crazy, but I would never trade it for anything. We are carrying out what we dreamed to do. No better feeling than that.

-Who are some of you role models?

My parents. No celebrity can top that.

-What do you all like to do in your spare time?

Some of us love watching series of television like The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad. I’d say a lot of movies and television for the long travel routes.

-With five young men in the band and different personalities and opinions, How do you make sure you always stay on the same page and -avoid fighting?

One of the best things about us is that we are really best friends. We’ve known each other forever, and have been best friends way before the band ever had a start. It makes decisions go a little easier and more cohesive knowing that we are automatically, and usually, on the same page from the start.

-Can You Talk About Your name Action Item and why that felt right?

We were watching a movie, Fight Club to be exact, a couple years back. We heard the term Action Item and Dan’s brother Mark thought that would be a great band name. At that point, we were desperate for any name, and it turned out to be the best one we’ve heard yet. Later on we found out that “Action Item” means something to accomplish, or achieve, and we felt that was pretty fitting for the band.
