Southern rock band Blackberry Smoke rolled into town with their country charm and bad-ass music and played for their loyal hearty following at NY’s Irving Plaza.
The country rockers from Atlanta, Georgia; Charlie Starr, Richard Turner, Brit Turner, Paul Jackson, and Brandon Still have the perfect combination of groovy music, truth and country cool.
Touring for more years than they probably can count, they now play for packed houses across the country and in Europe, and their following keeps on growing. As does their sexy long hair.
The new record The Whippoorwill, their third studio album and first for Zac Brown’s independent label Southern Ground, has been touted by the Herald-review.com “a great album.”
Making their way up the fame ladder, they are mostly known for their support of big name acts like The Marshall Tucker Band, ZZ Top and Zac Brown who not many people ever heard of before being crowned ‘Best New Artist’ at the 2010 Grammy’s. Then there’s legendary Lynyrd Skynyrd who many compare them too.
And speaking of Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Simple Man Cruise where they’re a featured act leaves in two weeks but don’t bother, it’s already sold out.
There’s always next year.
Love them!!! Amazing show!!
