The paparazzi and reporters went nuts Saturday night awaiting the arrival of Kim Kardashian hosting her 2nd Annual Midori Green Halloween costume party at chic lounge Avenue in Chelsea.
Then finally, dressed as a sexy mermaid with a $2000. real hair blonde wig which took over 10 hours to make, the reality star walked the Midori green carpet while her captain-dressed boyfriend Kanye West, adoringly waited in the wings snapping his own pictures.
Kim’s gal pal La La Anthony without hubby NY Knicks Carmelo, also arrived with Kim and Kanye in a sexy cat outfit.
After some time talking with reporters, I saw a stunning and smiling Kim who’s a spokeswoman for the melon liqueur brand, make her way into the packed gastro-lounge with her attentive sailor-man boyfriend dutifully holding up the tail of her costume to ensure she didn’t trip.
Artichoke Basille, famous for their creamy artichoke pizza, fed the hungry crowd who also donned their best stylish costume for the occasion, including me and my French Maid getup.
Kim held court at a body-guarded table surrounded by friends La La Anthony, Simon Huck, Carla DiBello, Joyce Bonelli, and Michael Silva, who were all grinding at the table as they danced to beats by DJ Kiss. Kim modeled for Kanye as he snapped pictures of her and they all sipped on signature Midori cocktails – including the Midori Mermaid Bowl, a fishbowl inspired by Kim’s costume.
Party highlights included a custom smoking Elixir bar, an exclusive mummy dance performance in homage to Thriller and a “scare” photo booth, where spooky goblins jumped from hiding and photo bombed guests.
Other tidbits:
When DJ Kiss spun Kanye’s song “My Perfect Bitch” the crowd went wild and Kanye perked up- he put his hands in the air to pump up the crowd.
Even though the group was lively throughout the evening (posing for pictures, dancing, ordering multiple bottles of Midori), Kanye stole a couple sweet moments with Kim. They kissed a few times and he was rubbing her back, at one point she whispered something in his ear and his face lit up.
Kanye kept bragging to friends how beautiful Kim looked and that he loved her being blonde.
Even though Kim was offered a luxurious suite, Kim chose to shack up at Kanye’s NYC apartment.
