Uh Huh.
Beyoncé just inked a mega-million dollar deal with Pepsi.
The iconic soda brand, Pepsi and mega-talent Beyoncé just announced a global partnership which pioneers a new way for Pepsi to engage with talent, moving from sponsor to partner.
Beyoncé, who first worked with Pepsi in 2002, returns to the Pepsi family in a global capacity that represents a ground-breaking, multi-level partnership guesstimated at $50 million, that is sure to become the aspiration in the music industry.
Past Pepsi spokespersons include Ray Charles, Britney Spears, Pink and Enrique Iglesias.
Here’s the limited edition Pepsi can developed in partnership between Pepsi and Beyoncé which will first be seen in Europe next March, and Bey at a Pepsi photo shoot last October. This will appear as life-size standees in stores starting first quarter 2013. Both are extensions of the brand’s “Live For Now” campaign.
The unconventional multi-year deal is said to include standard advertising like commercials and print ads as well as a “fund to support the singer’s chosen creative projects.” In other words, whatever the actress, songstress and entrepreneur who last year pulled in $40 million deems a creative partnership opportunity.
“Pepsi embraces creativity and understands that artists evolve,” Beyoncé told The Times in a statement. “As a businesswoman, this allows me to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without sacrificing my creativity.”
I’ll drink to that.
