Married comedy power duo Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone will co-direct New Line’s ‘Tammy’ which is about a women who after losing her job and learning that her husband has been unfaithful, hits the road with her profane, hard-drinking grandmother.
The cute duo penned the script and will also produce the movie which originally had trouble finding a director before they passed it along to the funny couple who had us belly laughing with their scene in ‘Bridesmaids.’
Variety reported that director Beth McCarthy-Miller was originally supposed to direct as well as Rob Reiner, but the iconic director and studio could not reach an agreement.
The soon-to-be first time directors can be seen this weekend in Universal’s “Identity Thief” which McCarthy co-stars with Jason Bateman.
Come June, look for McCarthy and Sandra Bullock‘s new flick ‘The Heat.’
