The star-studded amfAR Gala, one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the Cannes Film Festival, had its official champagne sponsor Moët & Chandon hosting and toasting the cinema world’s most successful celebrities at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, including Sharon Stone, Jessica Chastain, Paris Hilton and younger beau River, Christoph Waltz, Petra Nemcova, Rosario Dawson, Adrian Brody, Milla Jovovich, Nicole Kidman, Goldie Hawn, Karolina Kurkova and many others.
Moët & Chandon auctioned a luxurious coffret of its legendary champagne Grand Vintage Collection 1893 and the 120-year-old treasure was auctioned for €50,000 with proceeds benefiting lifesaving AIDS research.
With the goal of topping all previous amfAR fundraisers, Heidi Klum helped open the event with a speech extolling the crowd to down a glass of Moët & Chandon to help loosen the purse strings.
She toasted the crowd, began to down the glass and then stopped saying, “I have to stop, but you should keep drinking!”
Sharon Stone was overheard saying that it was her mother’s 80th birthday, but she chose to be at the 20th Anniversary of amfAR to support the charity and its longstanding work to AIDS research.
Adrian Brody and Rosario Dawson also celebrated by leading a Moët & Chandon Imperial toast with the A-list crowd.
