Oscar-nominated actor Samuel L. Jackson was guest of honor at the 11th Ischia Global Film and Music Festival where he received the Ischia Legend Award, the event’s highest honor.
Jackson, 64, recognized as the highest-grossing actor ever, was called “one of the busiest and well-respected actors in Hollywood” by Pascal Vicedomini, founder and director of the Ischia event.
The festival on the picturesque island off the coast of Naples concludes July 21.
Jackson earned a nomination for best supporting actor in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction in 1995, and has appeared in nearly 150 films in a career spanning more than 40 years.
His stellar resume includes : Jackie Brown, Django Unchained, True Romance, Die Hard with a Vengeance, Unbreakable, The Incredibles, Shaft, Snakes on a Plane, Inglorious Basterds, Iron Man, Thor and Captain America.
Famed producer Arnon Milchan was also honored with the Ischia Legend Award.
Jackson joins a prestigious group of previous Ischia Legend Award winners that includes director Oliver Stone, actors Ben Kingsley, Vanessa Redgrave, and Hilary Swank, and musicians Sting, Harry Belafonte, and Burt Bacharach.
