Fashion doyenne Anna Wintour wouldn’t miss one of Roger Federer‘s tennis matches for the world, so its no surprise the VOGUE Editor-in-Chief helicoptered in to meet him at his glamorous champagne party at Chelsea Piers.
Moët & Chandon – the Champagne of success and glamour since 1743 – hosted its 270th Anniversary with Roger Federer, international tennis champion and Moët & Chandon Global Brand Ambassador, guest of honor.
While Federer lead the toast, all attention immediately turned to legendary , Anna Wintour, who arrived by helicopter from Long Island with Charlie Shaffer, Luke Wintour, Ellie Wintour, Klara Zak and Liz Cordry.
Anna smiled as she walked into the party and rushed to find Federer – a longtime friend – on the red carpet, exclaiming, “It’s good to see you” with a double kiss on the cheek.
Federer – ever the dashing host – gushed upon Anna’s arrival as they both cozied up on the red carpet for photos.
One guest exclaimed, “We have never seen her smile so much!” After Anna introduced Federer to her family who were in toe, they disappeared into the party together.
Said Federer: “It is a big deal for [me] and Moet & Chandon….I’m the Global Brand Ambassador for them, so it’s an exciting night here tonight to celebrate 270 years.”
Regarding the On the upcoming US Open – “I hope so, I hope that means I played well and am very happy with my performances. One thing’s for sure, I‘ll give everything I have. As usual I’m excited to be back in New York and I hope it is going to be a good trip for me. I feel good, I feel confident, so we’ll see how it goes.”
