Actress, Marissa Jaret Winokur has joined forces with the American Diabetes Association to launch the Tour de Cure Women’s Series.
The female focused cycling event will kick off in Santa Barbara on October 27, 2013 in Santa Barbara.
Marissa was on-hand recently in Santa Monica to promote the women’s series and discuss her weight loss journey. Marissa’s childhood friend has diabetes with a kidney transplant schedule for next week so the cause is very close to her heart.
“When I told friends and family I was working with the American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure Women’s Series, I was surprised by how many people said their mother, wife or sister have diabetes,” said Marissa.
