The transformation is finally done.
The 3 year project worth $1 billion dollars courtesy of Madison Square Garden honcho Jim Dolan unveiled itself today to a plethora of media and celebrities all looking to sneak a peak.
“I’m a very proud New Yorker today” said Dolan when called to the podium by Hank Ratner, his CEO of Chase Consumer and Community Banking . “This is about our fans from the first row to the last row.”
Chase, who has had a strategic partnership with Madison Square Garden going back 100 years, is advertised throughout the Arena with an 1800 sq ft Chase Square admist 3D screens incorporated into the ceiling, and two Chase Bridges with unbelievable views.
The event featured New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, NY Rangers great Mark Messier and Knicks Legend Willis Reed.
Said the Governor standing powerful and proud, “You know, as Governor I get to do many things, but as a boy from Queens, how cool is today?”
Branded as “The World’s Most Famous Arena”, the new state of the art digitized facility with all the trimmings is a must-see. Wider concourses, new first-class food and entertainment amenities, improved sight-lines, more comfortable seating, state-of-the art lighting, and gorgeous sound and LED video systems in HD are just some of the dynamic new additions.
We were treated to a presentation of the outrageous 3D screens incorporated into the ceiling at Chase Square which takes on a new level of state-of-the-art technology.
Enhanced food offerings throughout the Arena now feature some of the world’s greatest chef’s and restauranteurs, including Jeremy Marshall, Jean Georges Vongerichten, Phil Suarez, Andrew Carmellini, Luke Ostrom, and Drew Nieporent who before the press conference requested eggs when to his chagrin he saw only mini-bagels, fruits and pastries at the courtesy buffet table.
Also featured at the Arena, popular Carnegie Deli, Hill Country BBQ, Casa Nonna and La Esquina.
The eclectic mix of famous faces making the ‘defining moment’ event included 50 Cent, Robert Klein, Constantine Maroulis, Walt “Clyde” Frazier and Kelly Bensimon.
The new Arena officially reopens Friday, October 25th with a New York Knicks pre-season contest.
