Superstar Jennifer Hudson is going back to her roots.
Way back before she hit it big on American Idol, snagged many awards including Oscar, Globe and SAG, and even performed at The White House, Jennifer Hudson had a singing gig on a Cruise ship.
The now 32-year old will take her talent back to the sea and perform June 18 on Carnival Ecstasy and June 19 on Carnival Breeze, both in Cozumel, Mexico, being billed as ‘Carnival Live with Jennifer Hudson’.
At Thursday’s midtown Manhattan press conference, Hudson said, “I used to work on a cruise ship, a long time ago. That’s what I did before I did ‘American Idol.’
Other acts confirmed for the cruising series include Chris Daughtry’s band Daughtry also an ‘AI’ alum, Chicago, Foreigner, Gavin DeGraw, Jewel, Kansas, Lady Antebellum, LeAnn Rimes, Martina McBride, Olivia Newton John, REO Speedwagon, STYX and Trace Adkins.
