- Along with Nyong’o, in honor of film industry notables Cheryl Boone Isaacs and Ava DuVernay, Target was proud to partner with ESSENCE to celebrate their achievements at the 7th annual ESSENCE Black Women of Hollywood Luncheon.
As the retail partner for the luncheon, Target will celebrate this year’s honorees by furthering its commitment to the African-American community through a $50,000 donation to the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
Opening in Washington, D.C., in 2015, the museum hopes to be a place that transcends the boundaries of race and culture that divide us, and becomes a lens into a story that unites us all.
