Jets‘ dueling Quarterback’s Geno Smith and Michael Vick are working very hard right now getting ready for the upcoming season. As teammates, they’re competing with each other to see who gets to play. Go figure.
Geno spoke to the press about Vick, Sanchez and more. Read.
On how working with Michael Vick has been so far…
It’s been good. We’re competing very hard. Mike’s a guy that I’m learning from on a daily basis. We’re doing a great job at picking each other’s brains, supporting one another on the field and then competing with one another. Like I’ve said all along, it’s been a dream come true. Mike’s been one of the guys I’ve always looked up to, so to get a chance to work with him on a daily basis, be in the classroom with him (and) work out on the field with him is something that I really cherish.
On his relationship with Vick compared to with Mark Sanchez…
I’m not going to compare that. We’re in a different year. It’s year two, I’m all about getting better. I’m looking forward to working with Mike. When I was with Mark we did a good job with doing the same thing – we competed hard. That’s what we do around here. We’re going to compete on a daily basis. And it’s all of us, Matt Simms, Tajh Boyd, every guy on this team is competing. It’s a good sign for this team because it really makes us get better from day to day.
On if he feels added pressure…
No, not at all.
Here’s to an interesting season.
