Wonderwall.com chatted with Joe Manganiello about his exciting summer, how he’s gearing up for “Magic Mike XXL,” his new video game Destiny, and his love of gaming.
Manganiello, who just said “it was a busy and exciting summer”, I’m sure was referring to his time spent with Sofia Vergara. However, the actor, has been busy preparing for upcoming ‘Magic Mike’ sequel and promoting new video game ‘Destiny.’
Here’s a peak at some of his interview:
On life since “True Blood” wrapped:
“I have zero time. … It was a busy and exciting summer. I’m getting ready for ‘Magic Mike XXL’ right now. And I shot this great movie with Jason Sudeikis and Rebecca Hall called ‘Tumble Down.’ That was great.”
The first “Magic Mike” movie:
“We were in uncharted waters. Nobody had made the male stripper movie to the scale that we were making it. I think yeah, you just don’t know how this is going to go over. You think it’s going to be funny. Our choreographers were fantastic, so once I saw the dance routines, I thought that if you don’t laugh at this you have no sense of humor.”
Shooting “Magic Mike”:
“I wouldn’t say that I was nervous. I wouldn’t use the word nervous to describe my preparation for part 1. I think it was more of wondering how the audience was going to react to what we were doing. But I wasn’t nervous.”
How he feels going into the sequel:
“I think because of that acceptance and popularity of [‘Magic Mike’], I think this time it’s just a lot of fun. It’s going to be a lot of fun to hang out with those guys and see everybody again.”
On what to expect from “Magic Mike XXL”:
“It’s more fun and it’s more of the guys. It’s probably less love story and more the ensemble and the guys hanging out. The whole movie is about the guys.”
When he became a gamer:
“Probably since I got my first Atari 2600. I was a little kid when we got one. I bought my first Nintendo, but I had to do it on my own so I went and got a paper route to pay for that.”
Who he plays video games with:
“I’m more of a solo guy just because I have to carve out the time. If there’s a game that I really want to get into, I’ll rush to make sure that I get all of my work done so that I can carve out that time on the weekend or that one night I don’t have to wake up in the morning at the crack of dawn.”
On new video game Destiny:
“I was a fan of the Halo games. I know the story of Bungee and that they wanted to take the next leap forward. I’ve seen a whole bunch of the artwork and some of the walk-throughs of some of the worlds and it looks like it’s going to one of the biggest games of the year.”
