Showing her sultry side on the cover of EBONY‘s October issue on stands now, Taraji P. Henson stars in and produces new genre-defining thriller ‘No Good Deeds’ with Idris Elba.
The Oscar nominated actress known for her down-to-earth personality, has an intimate talk with EBONY’s editor-in-chief, Mitzi Miller, on provocative topics ranging from the kinkiest place she’s had sex and her guilty pleasures to bizarre dreams and sexting.
“It’s a real girl-power film; she never stops fighting,” says Henson regarding her character, Terri in ‘No Good Deeds.’ “It delivers the message that you don’t ever have to become the victim.”
She even offers up the best advice she’s ever received: “My dad always told me to get from around those who have the same problem and get around people who have a solution.”
Even with The Curious Life of Benjamin Button and Baby Boy, which garnered accolades from Oscar nods to NAACP Image Awards and despite her accomplishments and amazing body of work, Henson admits she still struggles with accessing the power of influence in the industry.
“I’m still treated like I’m on the D-list,” Henson acknowledges. “I’m still being considered with actresses who haven’t done half the stuff I’ve achieved.”
But the Washingtonian uses the obstacles as motivation.
“When people tell me no, I get hyped,” she shares. “Because when I prove that I can and will, I love watching people eat crow. “
