Dr. Henry Kissinger, Former U.S. Secretary of State and Charlie Rose, renowned journalist and newscaster, were honored last week aboard the Intrepid at a back tie gala dinner benefiting the Lafayette/Hermione project.
There was extraordinary French cuisine styled after the 18th Century with wines donated by Moët Hennessy, plus a live auction led by Christies Auctioneer, Robbie Gordy.
Bernard-Henri Lévy presented Charlie Rose with his award which was then followed by a stage interview with Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund.
Other guests that attended included: H. E. Gèrard Araud (Ambassador of France), Sharon Bush, Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, Meera Gandhi, Vartan Gregorian, Lewis Lapham, The Hon and Mrs. Howard Leach, H. E. Bertrand Lortholary (Consul General of France), Catherine Malandrino, Kati Marton, The Hon and Mrs. Craig Stapelton, and Andrew Young.
The Gala Chairs included Sir Martin Sorrell, The Honorable and Mrs. Earle I. Mack, Miles Young, and Pascale Richard.
