Legendary music executives Russell Simmons and Steve Rifkind hosted a super exclusive event in LA showcasing talent that was featured in their new music platform ADD52 in partnership with Samsung and Milk Music.
The Def Jam co-founder and Loud Music & SRC Records entrepreneur celebrated ADD52, (All Def Digital) which will release one single and video a week, a year (the 52), from an unsigned artist, giving them more exposure and secure funding for music videos, access to studios and industry professionals, and more.
The night kicked off with a set DJ’ed by the one and only Erykah Badu, who played a blend of R&B and funk to keep things lively.
Then, ADD52 presented NYC-bred Alus, who’s strong vocals and cute appearance made an impression with the crowd.
She was followed by up-and coming MC RJ, who performed his newest single “How You Feel,” produced by DJ Mustard.
The showcase closed with internet sensation, Niykee Heaton, who performed her hit single “Bad Intentions.“
The night capped with special performances by Melanie Fiona, Too Short, and Floetry, and Erykah Badu – ended the night with a special extended rendition of her hit single, “Bag Lady.”
Music biggies Scooter Braun and Randy Phillips were there, as well as 2 Chainz, Trinidad James, Too Short, and more.
