In an interview with HuffPost Live on Friday, the cast of “Unbroken” opened up about working with Angelina Jolie, who produced and directed the war drama.
Actors Jack O’Connell, Miyavi, Finn Wittrock and Garrett Hedlund discussed the film and the story of Louis Zamperini –– the Olympian and war hero at its center — and dished about what Jolie was really like as a director.
Miyavi: “[Jolie] tortured me. Also, It was surprising how much she trusted me, all of us, on the set. She was so determined. I was also surprised how skinny she got. You know, she was not eating much. I felt so bad I was the only one who got fat.”
Hedlund: “She was extremely collaborative and sort of inspired the whole time. I think because she’s an actress she loves watching the actors get a little mental and sort of cram and trial and error and figure things out. And I think it makes her smile.”
Unbroken hits theaters Christmas Day.
