Oscar winner Marion Cotillard sat down with Larry King for an in-depth conversation to discuss her acclaimed new role in “Two Days, One Night”, her highly anticipated new role as Lady MacBeth opposite Michael Fassbender, plus her reaction to the terror attacks in her home country of France.
Appearing on ‘Larry King Now’, the amazing French actress also talked about the Oscar buzz surrounding “Two Days, One Night” saying, “You know, this is really something, when you do a Belgian movie, or a French movie, and you’re able to show it here. This is something that I really, really enjoy, and that’s enough for me.” She also revealed what it was like to take on her acclaimed new role in the film as a blue collar factory worker who has a history of depression.
During the in-depth conversation with Larry, the acclaimed French actress aptly responded for the first time publicly to the recent terrorist attacks in her homeland, “It was kind of hard not to be there and to share what was happening, but I shared it from here, and I’m very proud of my country. I’m very proud of the people who—yeah, who has reunited against fear, and to support those humorists—those people who were just drawing.”
On Lady MacBeth, “I didn’t question too much why they would ask a French actor to be Lady Macbeth because I really wanted to be her.” She also shared what it was like playing opposite Michael Fassbender in their upcoming Shakespearean adaptation, “He’s one of the most inventive actors I’ve ever worked with and to be inventive as an actor, for me, is one of the best qualities.”
