Star Wars film director and Strange Magic producer George Lucas and his wife Mellody Hobson, attended and purchased powerful artwork from the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series exhibit at the SCOPE NYC Art Show in partnership with Russell/Danny Simmons’ RUSH Philanthropic Arts Foundation.
The exhibit showcased the inspiring work of San Francisco Artist Kristine Mays, who was recently named National Grand Finale Winner of the 5th Annual Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series competition (determined and announced during Art Basel this past Dec).
Kristine Mays’ “Four Souls of Birmingham” sculptural artwork inspired by Spike Lee’s documentary, “4 Little Girls”, sold to George Lucas and Mellody Hobson for $10K. In addition, Mays was commissioned to create two more distinctive wireframe dresses as they reminded Lucas and Hobson of their sweet new 7-month old daughter Everest.
Also at the show, Frances and Andre Guichard.
