This year’s ‘Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow’ Gala, a night of performances, dinner and dancing, will take place on April 16 at 6:30pm, on the Promenade of the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center, hosted by Youth America Grand Prix chairman Amy Astley (editor Teen Vogue).
The gala will feature a night of thrilling performances by leading dancers from the world’s most prominent companies (Stars of Today—many of whom are YAGP alumni) alongside 2015 YAGP finalists in the audition process for scholarships (Stars of Tomorrow).
The evening will feature the world premiere of Minuet in D Minor with choreography by Emery LeCrone, in addition to the New York premiere of Windy Sand with choreography by Alexei Kremnev, featuring an original score by Karen LeFrak and costumes designed by B Michael.
This spectacular evening of dance is not too be missed.
The 2015 YAGP finalists will take the stage, at the David H. Koch Theater, to dance with today’s biggest dance stars.
The program will include a world premiere by Anton Pimonov, world premiere by Alexei Kremnev and the Joffrey Ballet, world premiere by Emery Lecrone, US debut of Melissa Hamilton (Royal Ballet) and Kimin Kim (Mariinsky Ballet), US premiere of ‘Quaila’ by Wayne McGregor, New York premiere of ‘Verano Porteño’ by Mauricio Wainrot and Paloma Herrera, in one of her last New York appearances before retiring from American Ballet Theater.
Sergei Filin (Bolshoi Ballet), David Hallberg (ABT and Bolshoi principal dancer), and many other international ballet stars will attend, with the Gala underwritten by Bulgari.
Following the performance, dancers and guests will enjoy dinner and dancing at the Celebration on the Promenade of the David H. Koch Theater.
