Talk show host Kelly Ripa had a great Mother’s day weekend.
The likeable personality brought along hubby Mark Consuelos and her three kids to the 26th Annual GLAAD Media Awards at the Waldorf Astoria where she was honored along with MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts.
Both giving powerful, emotional and moving speeches, Ripa received the Excellence in Media Award, presented to her by good friend Anderson Cooper, and Robert’s received a standing ovation about his own struggles coming out to his family.
Hosted by the bubbly Ross Matthews, the Ketel One Vodka event celebrated GLAAD’s mission to rewrite the script on LGBT acceptance, and provoke a dialogue about marriage equality and accelerating acceptance.
Other presenters incuded Unbreakable’s Tituss Burgess, Judith Light and Homeland’s Rupert Friend, and guests Laverne Cox, Jason Collins, Andreja Pejic, Rachael Harris, Jackie Cruz, Lindsay Wixson, Josephine Skriver, Dascha Polanco, Jonathan Groff and more.
Impressively and thoughtfully, the live fundraising pledges portion of the night received more than $150,000, with donations from Mark Consuelos and Jonathan Groff.
