Last Thursday, Partnership with Children hosted its Annual Spring Gala, raising $1.1 million dollars to support its social work services for more than 17,000 New York City school children.
Mark Dowley, Chief Strategy Officer at MacAndrews & Forbes Incorporated and Chairman of DDCD & Partners, and Marianne Gambelli, Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Horizon Media, were honored for their career and community leadership.
Gambelli remarked that “children are in constant crisis and the public schools just don’t have the funds to support or handle all their needs. This is where Partnership steps in; filling those gaps, and providing compelling programs that give the children the tools they need to cope with their everyday lives – taking some of that pressure off – so they could focus on education and learning.”
Board member Kenneth Mortenson was presented with the Anne Vanderbilt Award for Achievement for his distinguished service, and student Ricky Sanders spoke about the importance of the Partnership with Children in his life.
Held at threesixty°, the nearly 500 guests included Gala Chair Linda Boff, Executive Director, Global Brand Marketing at GE, and Co-chairs Mel Berning, President and Chief Revenue Officer of A+E Networks and Shari Post, Vice President, Primetime Ad Sales, at NBC Universal.
