The edgy music star who revealed she has been battling Lyme disease, returned to the stage for the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics World Games.
The 30-year-old Canadian rocker looking fabulous performed “Fly” on Saturday night at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in front of about 6,500 athletes from 165 countries.
Lavigne was among an impressive group including First Lady Michelle Obama, who welcomed the thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities to the Special Olympic World Games, and praised for their courage and determination.
Said Lavingne on Instagram:
“This was a very beautiful night for me, congratulations to all the athletes.”
The athletes will participate in 25 sports over nine days, ranging from weightlifting to the triathlon.
