Amazing actress Marisa Tomei now starring in Empire, covers the March issue of  ELLE DECOR.

The always working Tomei, who brightens up every picture she’s in, won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 1993 for My Cousin Vinny, and was Oscar nominated again in 2008 for Best Supporting for The Wrestler.

On newsstands now, Tomei welcomed the magazine inside her Greenwich Village condo and talks about getting together with her ‘huge’ family, her dream home, her addiction to art and furniture shopping, and how she winds down after a long day on set.

Here’s some:

Marisa’s love of old Hollywood-style glamour led her to purchase a 1931 high-rise in New York’s Greenwich Village: “When I was a little girl, I wanted to live in a Fred Astaire townhouse and dance, dance, dance.”

Why she wanted to expand her “snug and lovely” but small space: “My family is huge, including over 25 cousins, aunts, and uncles, as well as my parents, who lie around the corner, and my brother. And we like to get together.”

Her thoughts when her neighbors slipped a note under her door that said, “We’re moving. Do you want to buy our place?”: “In New York, when an opportunity like that comes along, it’s like winning the lottery. Who could resist?”

One reason Marisa spends free time surfing the internet for design finds on eBay, Live Auctioneers and other sites: “After working long hours on a set, I like to see pretty things. It helps me to wind down.”

Marisa on her love of vintage furniture, art, and objects: “It has to do with being an actress. What are the details of another person’s life? What’s the history of an object?”
