The Dodgers held a pre-game appreciation ceremony honoring retiring 88-year old Vin Scully, the American sportscaster best known for his play-by-play announcing for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Superstar Kevin Costner, baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred, Hall of Fame pitcher Sandy Koufax and Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw spoke and paid tribute to Scully who thanked the fans for their enthusiasm, and passion for the game. Said Scully: “When you roar, when you cheer, when you are thrilled for a brief moment I’m 8 years old again. You have allowed me to be young at heart. I owe you everything.”
Scully was with wife Sandra Hunt with whom he held hands with, and the Dodgers went on to beat the Colorado Rockies 5-2.
