The American Film Institute honored Oscar winning actress Annette Bening with a ‘A Tribute To Annette Bening’ and Gala Screening of her newest film “20th Century Women.”
The tribute celebrated her career and included a conversation with the 58-year old actress, who attended the ceremony with her main man Warren Beatty, and 16-year old daughter Ella Beatty.
The movie written and directed by Mike Mills tells the story of three women who explore love and freedom in Southern California during the late 1970s, and co-stars Elle Fanning, Greta Gerwig, Billy Crudup and Lucas Jade Zumann.
“Annette Bening is a modern-day icon of American cinema,” AFI Fest director Jacqueline Lyanga said in a statement. “In ’20th Century Women,’ she finds one of her richest roles yet, delivering a strong performance that anchors the film’s terrific ensemble cast.”
