Actor Antonio Banderas spoke over the weekend about the recent heart attack he suffered back in January.
In his home town at The 20th Malaga Film Festival in Spain where he received a lifetime achievement award for his career as an actor, director and producer, the 56-year-old actor with girlfriend Nicole Kimpel told the media: “I suffered a heart attack on Jan. 26, but it wasn’t serious and hasn’t caused any damage.”
Reportedly, he had said he was working at his home in Surrey, England when he experienced “agonizing” chest pains and was rushed to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
Banderas has since said he underwent a procedure to introduce three stents in his arteries, adding that “it hasn’t been as dramatic as some have written.”
Next up for the Spanish heartthrob and ex-hubby of superstar Melanie Griffith with whom he has a daughter, Stella, is multigenerational love story Life Itself, from This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman, which co-stars Annette Bening, Samuel L. Jackson, Oscar Isaac and Olivia Wilde,
