Five years after her memorable turn on the hit TV show The Closer and fresh off directing her first film, Kyra is back in a starring role for ABC’s new drama Ten Days in the Valley.
Here, the amazingly talented mom of two, and wife of Kevin Bacon talks motherhood and personal style, and offers a glimpse into her closet, and home life.
Here’s some:
On her daughter following in her acting footsteps: “As an actor, there is so much rejection. Kevin and I have had some painful experiences, and you don’t want your kid to go through that. But I want [25-year-old Sosie] to follow her passion, and acting has become her passion.”
On her cooking skills vs. her husband, Kevin Bacon’s: “My husband and I cook together all the time. He’s an intuitive chef and really good at whipping things up without a recipe, which is so irritating, because if I’m following a recipe, I have to look at it over and over again.”
On the struggles of motherhood: “When I was pregnant, my mom said, “There are going to be times when you want to throw your kids out of a window, and that’s OK. “Being a mother is hard. We send women the message that it’s all supposed to be perfect, but it’s not. Believe me, it’s still hard, and my kids are adults!”
On her personal style: “I like clothes that will last a long time. Black peg pants with flats or ballet slippers and a cool top and blazer is my go-to look. A blazer pulls everything together.”
