Seventy five struggling Publicolor students spent seven weeks this summer learning about fundamentals of color, and designing products that extend abilities.
Summer Design Studio is a 7 week, five- day- a- week work/study program that Publicolor holds on Pratt Institutes’s campus in Brooklyn so their students, most of whom will be the first in their family to go to college feel comfortable in a college setting.
Publicolor’s Founder + President Ruth Lande Shuman applauded the Summer Design Studio students for their innovative designs. “I want to say just a few words of deep appreciation for all of you in this program. You had an absolutely spectacular summer. And to watch the progress that you made from day one when you started to get immersed in color and to create and now show such incredibly thoughtful products- I am so impressed and thrilled to see what you have done. It’s rather remarkable.” Shuman concluded. “If you can do this, you can do anything if you put your mind to it.”
The Paula Cooper Gallery in Chelsea hosted an exhibition of all the student projects.
