Molly Sims hosted a Mamarazzi party with THE MOMS at Miele Experience Center celebrating her new book Everyday Chic, which focuses on juggling career and a growing household, and solutions that work for her busy life.
Sponsored by Manitoba Harvest Center, the largest vertically-integrated hemp food manufacturer in the world, the model/actress and mom of three talked family, parties, girlfriends and more.
Here’s some:
Molly on stress when entertaining and her new book:
“Do not be the person cleaning and scrubbing during your party. Enjoy your party. Do all the things make it fun, do a paperless post. You can go to kinkos and make a little menu. When I’m doing something with my girlfriends last minute and I want it to be cool, I will do 12 little invites. Dump 19 cereal boxes, buy 2 pour it in a container and dump the box. Purge! Donate it and keep it. I have a holding tank and if I haven’t used it in 6 months to a year I am not going to need it. I threw out 7 sippy cups. You don’t need 19 sippy cups. The clutter drawer is 80/20. 80% Full 20% empty. Something goes in take something out.”
Molly on organization?
“Organization is like weight loss because you go lean and mean. You dump all of it when you walk into a room you can’t see all the stuff everywhere you have to have one room that is all yours yes you can have that playroom you can have that one section of the room but the rest of the house there has to be a place for everything. Molly on mom shaming and women:
“No mommy shaming. Be supportive. My village gave me some great quotes. My village are my girlfriends they are my everything.”
Molly on her “village”:
“My girlfriends are the shit. I was three hours delayed I wanted lashes I had black roots, 5 inches long, and my friend seriously sat on my bed and drank wine with while I did all of it and literally talked to me for 3 hours. I did all of it at home because I was 3 hours late and I missed all of my appointments. I had to talk all of them into coming to my house.”
Molly on being a people pleaser:
“I am from Kentucky and I am a little bit of a people pleaser and I’m like ok I can do that, sure not a problem I can do that. Then sometimes I won’t say anything, I won’t say anything and then I lose it. It builds up, I will count to ten and take a deep breathe and say this is what is bothering me. I am trying to ask for help more and my husband is amazing but he is singularly focused and I am multi-focused. Do we have diapers, do we have food?”
Molly on her husband:
“He is in LA, he is with them, he is so sweet, so cute, I have a little cardboard cutout of my cover and it was down in my office and and he took a pic of my 2 kids pretending to read the book. Oh my God I worry all the time I’ve called 19 times, I have face timed. I am lucky I have help I wish my mom and my family lived next door. I pray for that but she comes in tomorrow afternoon, and she is meeting me there for my party on Friday. I am lucky in that way in that I work hard and I play hard you have to stream line it, and Embrace the happy mess.”
