Pioneer rapper MC Lyte was among the guests at this year’s 49th NAACP Image Awards Nominees’ Luncheon at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
The 48-year old Brooklyn native and newlywed, who first started rapping when she was 12-years old, was the first solo female rapper to put out a full album back in the 1980’s with critically acclaimed ‘Lyte as a Rock’.
Airing on January 15, 2018 on Martin Luther King’s holiday birthday, Black-ish nominee Anthony Anderson will host the show which has Netflix and OWN leading the nominations in the TV categories.
