The French Heritage Society’s Annual New York Gala Dinner Dance at The Plaza Hotel was an exquisite affair to remember festively themed The Black and Orange Ball, with black-tie clad guests wearing elegant masks, disguises, and colorful accents.
The Gala Chairmen, New York Chapter Chairs, and Board of Directors including CeCe Black, Silvina Leone, Liz McDermott, Jay R. Paul, Jean Shafiroff, Ann Van Ness, Guy N. Robinson, Odile de Schiétère-Longchampt, Elizabeth F. Stribling, Denis de Kergorlay, David M. Gray, and Jennifer Herlein all dazzled in their stunning styles. Sharon Bush and Victor dE Souza also attended and were super-cute in the Halloween spirit.
Singer and performer Lenny Hoops provided exciting cocktail music and entertainment while we devoured scrumptious hors d’oeuvres like golden pastry pigs in blankets, lobster toast, and potato pancake caviar bites.
The evening honored French luxury lifestyle brand LALIQUE and its founder René Lalique, with event wine consultant and emcee, George Sape introducing a short video.
It was organized under the gracious patronage of His Excellency Gérard Araud, Ambassador of France to the United States, His Excellency François Delattre, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations, and Mrs. Sophie L’Hélias-Delattre, Ms. Anne-Claire Legendre, Consul General of France in New York, and Mrs. Bénédicte de Montlaur, Cultural Counselor of the French Embassy in the United States.
There was dancing set to the music of the Alex Donner Orchestra and a live auction lead by Nicholas Dawes, Vice President, Heritage Auctions.
