Quaint and rustic, romantic and casual, quiet Mediterranean cuisine hot spot IL Buco where even Jennifer Aniston and boyfriend Justin Theroux found time to dine months back, is proud to announce the opening of its new sister establishment, IL Buco Alimentari & Vineria, at 53 Great Jones between Bowery and Lafayette.
The New Market and Restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a wine bar, features a full-service restaurant (Vineria) as well as a market (Alimentari) which includes a coffee bar, house-cured salumeria, bakery (panetteria), pastificio (housemade pasta) and gelateria.
This lively, romantic, “cool” and comfortable new location is the creation of owner Donna Lennard, whose original il Buco has become one of the city’s most beloved dining destinations, and leading the kitchen is Executive Chef Justin Smillie, who most recently served as Chef at Andre Balazs’ Sunset Beach on Shelter Island, Sous Chef at The Standard in NYC, and Chef de Cuisine at Jonathan Waxman’s Barbuto.
