Real Estate mogul, Donald Trump wants to put America back to work, and so does NBC. The new season of ‘The Apprentice’ returns for a two hour premiere tomorrow at 9pm and gives 16 new candidates ranging in age, the opportunity of a lifetime and a chance to work for Trump’s Organization at a hefty $250,000 a year salary. All the contestants, who were hit hard by the economic downturn and lost their jobs with no hope in sight, will now get a second chance to come back and fight for this coveted position working for the no-nonsense Trump. On a recent conference call with Donald Trump, who is also one of the executive producers of the successful competition show, he told us reporters that he could absolutely relate to these contestants going through hard times. He said, “In the 90’s, I never went bankrupt, but my company was in serious trouble and I fought back and never gave up and I got a second chance.” Originally, they were going to air another season of ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ but they received so many letters from the public about the economy and people being on hard times, that they put that on hold (will air in early spring) and continued with this new concept. Trump continued, “This show is reflective of the current times.” A major bonus that will occur this season is the slew of top business executives that will be available as part of the rewards for winning project managers.
